me.ta.ci’no

stories in transit

me.ta.ciˈno*

presents works by minor refugees and asylum seekers residing in Thessaloniki and neighbouring prefectures that participated in a photography workshop under the guidance of Nikos Kostopoulos. It is a photographic journey of experiences through the eyes of 25 young creators.

The workshop that started in September 2021 has been attended by more than 40 students. Photography became a new means of expression and communication of their thoughts, feelings and dreams. At the same time, it became a way of integration in the city of Thessaloniki.

During the course, they freely expressed through the medium of photography their journey so far, as well as their visions for the future. The exhibition “me.ta.ciˈno” presents the different works, stories and perspectives they created, composing a polyphonic visual path and inviting the public to recognize the multitude of stories, experiences and dreams that shape and move each creator.

* me.ta.ciˈno is the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) of the word move.
